The thing about Keith playing these songs is that he doesn't add any slick shit in there, no ruffs on the HH or quick BD fills.

Just straight and real solid. That takes some discipline.

Good point about his spacious approach Benrand- one thing that turned me off Chambers on the Dan stuff was how much he played- blazing 32nd note fill in the middle of 'Kid Charlemagne' anyone? [img]eek.gif[/img] [img]graemlins/hmmm.gif[/img]

As I think someone pointed out, the original drum tracks are so timeless and part of the song... it's always going to be hard to hear someone new on the same tunes.

When DC played Babylon Sisters, he put some Dennis stuff in there that immediately had me noticing that it was in fact DC playing.

That's not playing for the music. Keith actually plays for the music here, I'm guessing that's why he got hired.

But it still sounds great, the music is lifted by that kind of simple solid drumming. It sounds GOOD.
